Histoire

In 1503, Coatudual was a noble fortress held by one of the forty-nine Taulesian gentlemen who were subject to the blood tax. Around 1700, the house was home to Messire René de Coetlogon and his wife Catherine Denys, lady of Pontlo. One of their sons left his mother's house to join Duguay-Trouin in the expedition to Rio de Janeiro in 1711. His sister, the last niece of Marshal de Coetlogon, Admiral of France, died at Coatudual in 1789, at the age of 93.
